Art Bible, detailed UI design & Predicted Strategies


Designer: The day went very well overall. The most valuable thing that I believe happened was that I helped the programmers with what the vision of my game truly looked like. I made a gameplay mock-up and it turned out very well. It helped me clarify visuals and even mechanics and features I hadn't considered before hand. The art bible was an interesting little thing to work with, I really enjoyed collecting an art palette for the game and the one I settled on really fits the theme. I also spend time imagining what strategies would be effective for ship starting position. Pretty cool stuff, honestly. Enjoyable class, I think the programmers have a much clearer vision after today's class.

Programmers: Damir was not here that day so I went ahead and read through his code and state machine with networking and attempt to see what is going on. I did not have much luck so I went into other means to get something done for the day. I talked to Bobby about the true vision of the game with how the UI is laid out with the gameplay components. Then I went ahead and made a task list filled with what priorities that would need to be in the first playable. After that I went ahead and started on UI work.
